William is off to Ft. Campbell...

So, Will just left for Kentucky... Needless to say, not the way that either of us wanted to start the day, but I got him on the road with a tasty mocha that I made him with my new cappucino machine, a couple of sandwiches and some yogurt. Fortunately, I have New Year's Eve and New Year's Day off, so we will get to ring in the New Year together in Nashville. Well, enough of the sadness today... Instead, I will recap the last couple of weeks.

Will and I attended the MEDDAC Holiday Ball on the 8th of December and had a lovely time with Leah, Josh, Kim and David. I found the most amazing red dress, which is a HUGE stretch for me since I don't wear much red, but it looked awesome! Will looked very handsome in his Dress Blues and received several compliments from my friends... We were quite the good- looking couple, if I do say so myself! Even though we used the photo as our Christmas card, I must post it again because it is such a great picture!

The week of the Holiday Ball, I got word that Kim and David got married! Very exciting for the both of them. He is moving back down to Georgia in January to work at MACH again and finish his RN. They both looked awesome the night of the Ball, and looked very much in love. Kim bought a gorgeous black and gold dress and picked out David's tux to match, so of course he looked good! They took advantage of the professional photographer and took some great photos (an excellent substitute for wedding pictures!)

Leah and Josh decided to go to the Holiday Ball at the last minute, so Will, Kim, David and I were very excited! Leah wore a super-cute black dress, and Will was happy to see that Josh wore his Dress Blues as well... He was happy to have another "blue cord" (Infantryman) at the table amid all of the AMEDD folks. Both of them were joking that they look like Mexican Generals with all of the "flair" on their uniforms... Ha-ha. Overall, we had a great time, a decent buffet, entertainment and some dancing.

Last weekend, Will and I flew out to California to see my family. My parents, Will and I hosted a small open house on Friday night to give my extended family an opportunity to meet Will. More people showed up than we expected and it went better than I ever could have hoped for. Everyone loved Will and commented how happy we both looked. He fit right in with my family and will be an awesome addition when the time comes! On Saturday, we got to eat lunch with my ROTC friend Jennifer, went to Elisa's nursing school graduation dinner, and attended Jamie's Christmas party. On Sunday, we drove to Santa Cruz to have breakfast with Danielle, David and Aidan, and ate dinner with my parents, Carolyn, and my Auntie B. We also had our mini-Christmas Eve that night, and everyone loved their presents. Will and I did a pretty good job for last-minute christmas shopping! Monday morning, we were on the road to SFO at 4:00 am to catch our 6:00 am flight. Overall, it was a really busy weekend, but worth every minute! I wouldn't have wanted it any other way...

Well, you are now caught up in the life of the LT and the CPT...

Christmas is coming, Chrismas is coming!

I just realized I haven't posted anything for awhile, so here goes...

Thanksgiving was interesting and not the greatest time to have met the rest of Will's family, but we made the best of it... However, Will's apartment is now fully furnished since he bought the rest of it while we were in Kentucky.

About a week ago, Will and I started talking about Christmas and Christmas trees. I said that I wasn't going to get a tree this year, because Jinx would probably just pee on it and knock it over trying to climb on it... The look on Will's face was of disbelief and shock, since he has a tree every year. So, I decided to get a tree for him and decorate it while he was in Clarksville last weekend looking for a house. Leah and Josh helped me get the tree on the car and get it into Will's apartment. It was then up to me to get the tree decorated and a few presents under it... (Just a couple, since the tree was Will's main present this year!) The surprise went off without a hitch, and he LOVED the tree! I was quite proud of myself... It is the first tree I have ever purchased and decorated all by myself. As you can see, it is quite sparkly and fun! Stockings and all, since Will doesn't have a fireplace... It was perfect timing too, since we had our little Christmas party last night.

Our little Christmas party was quite fun... The 6AB mafia was out in full-force. We always have such a good time together, it is ridiculous. I have been so blessed to work with such good people at my first duty station, and I will be so sad to leave them... I digress. We had a little Frankie belting out some Christmas standards, Cosmos, Appletinis, Martinis, wine, beer, fabulous hors d'oeuvres, cookies, and good conversation. Overall, a nice low-key evening. I don't know if you can tell, but I had been drinking a little at this point in the evening... Ha-ha! Will was also a huge help, he cleaned before and after the party, stirred the meatballs, made the mini-quiches and helped bartend. I love the fact that he fits in so easily with my friends... Just like he has always been friends with them.

Well, that is about it for now... The MEDDAC Holiday Ball is on Friday, so stay tuned for pictures of Will and I looking totally hot!
