Nights...

...Are killing my desire to do anything. I have not been out of my apartment in two days.

But soon, I will be in the ER hopefully precepting on days. Speaking of precepting, I will be precepting one of the new LTs on our floor until I transfer down to the ER. I am excited to finally be able pass on some of my newfound nursing knowledge and skills...

But onto more important things... I have been up to Ft. Campbell a couple of times to see Will now, and I am going up to see him again this weekend. (Will and I eating pizza with Stephanie at the old Baker Boys two weekends ago.) We are going to go see how the new house is coming along. Will told me that the sod went down in the front yard and that they started building the deck last week, so that should be exciting to see. I will have some pictures soon!

Well, my super-cool social worker friend Jamie gave me a 'journal jar' for Christmas, and I thought it would be a great new segment for my blog to answer a few of the questions every time I blog. Some of you will find out some interesting things about me that you didn't know... So here goes!

What is your favorite comedy movie? Why?

Monty Python's The Holy Grail. It is so over the top and silly... I love to watch it when I need a good laugh and a little pick-me-up.

Who was your first crush?

Ha-ha, Matthew Jones. I think my crush on him was the world's longest-running crush... I liked him from kindergarten until sophomore year of high school, and then again after we graduated from high school. We actually went out once, but just ended up star-crossed...

Well, I think Tas and I are going to go out and get some beers tonight at SOHO, so I best go get ready...

Stay tuned for more 'new home news'!

The year in review...

Happy New Year!!

Well, the new year started out with a bang... I ventured to Nashville to ring in the New Year with Will and we had a great time. We started out at a private party that a friend of Will's threw, then we headed downtown with some of his friends and spent the remainder of the night at Decades, a wonderful club that features 80's and 90's music. We toasted the New Year with cheap champagne and a kiss... It was perfect.

Upon my return to work, I started back on nights... So I will once again become the mystery lady of the night shift... Ha-ha. I guess it is for the best, since Will is now officially at Ft. Campbell. Actually, being on nights makes Will being gone a little easier, since most of my nights are now spent working, instead of at home on the couch wishing Will was sitting there with me. Nonetheless, it still sucks that Will is gone...

I have been inspired by the close of 2006 to write a little year in review blog...

January 2006: I found myself getting settled into a new apartment, a new city, a new job and new friendships. Overall, a great start to the year.

February 2006: I found a great bar here, just like the Nut House... It has become my second home! I spent a lot of time at SOHO in February...

March 2006: I finally started taking my own patients at work... And the craziness that is the 6th floor ensues. As I remember, I think I wanted to kill myself every shift...

April 2006: I finally got some furniture for my apartment... No more sleeping on the air-mattress for Audrey! I also took my first PT test here in Georgia. Lastly, the ill-fated Chris incident begins...

May 2006: I took on the role of Charge Nurse... Welcome to a whole new level of chaos in my young nursing career! I also got to spend some time with Peter and Marty before they headed off to Ranger School. I ditched e-Harmony and the Chris incident continued...

June 2006: The 11th of June marked one year since my commissioning. I also took my first trip to sunny Panama City Beach, Florida. It was amazing how blue, clear and warm the water was... Nothing like the Pacific Ocean. Comedy at The Loft with co-workers became a staple of my existance as well. The Chris incident continued...

July 2006: Life was pretty boring during July... I spent my days off by the pool with Jim getting some sun and hanging out in the hot tub at night. I got to see Peter graduate from Ranger School, but Marty got recycled. The ill-fated Chris incident ends...

August 2006: To repair my damaged ego, Rosie and I went out A LOT in August. Many, many beers were consumed... I was lucky enough to see Marty graduate from Ranger School, and we hung out a few times before he took off for Ft. Campbell. I also celebrated my 100th blog in August... A feat I must say. To end out the month, I started e-mailing with a funny, sarcastic guy that I was hoping would ask me out...

September 2006: Turned out to be the highlight of the year... I happened to meet a wonderful man named William (refer to the end of August). It took me completely by surprise and I think it took him completely by surprise too! I had a wonderful trip out to California, where I got to spend two weeks with friends and family. While I was home, I celebrated my 29th birthday... Yikes!! Overall, definetely the beginning of the best part of 2006!

October 2006: Returned home from leave and started back on days at work. Yay! Toward the middle of October, Will's mother came to visit and the three of us spent a couple of evenings together chatting and getting to know eachother better. Will also invited me to go to Western Kentucky University's homecoming at the end of October, where I had the pleasure of meeting some of Will's best friends and fraternity brothers.

November 2006: November was fairly quiet until the end of the month, when Will and I drove to Kentucky for Thanksgiving with his family. We ended up foregoing the Atlanta half-marathon on account of illness on my part... I was sick as a dog! It was a nice time nonetheless. Will ended up buying the rest of the furniture for his apartment in Owensboro, and we hauled it back to Columbus with a U-HAUL trailer. Fun times, fun times...

December 2006: December found Will and I throwing a small Christmas get-together and then going to the MEDDAC Holiday Ball a few days later. Will heard back from Branch, and his orders were officially changed... He was now headed to Ft. Campbell, KY instead of Ft. Wainwright, AK. A collective sigh of relief was heard from both of us and our families. In mid-December, Will and I trekked out to California for a pre-holiday whrilwind visit with my family and friends, where I got to show him off! The family was thouroghly impressed with my choice... :) Christmas found Will in Kentucky with his family, and me with a few friends that had to work the holidays with me. Luckily, I had New Year's Eve and New Years Day off, so Will and I planned a Nashville New Year's trip.

Well, that about sums up the year! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. It was a year full of change, growth and wonderful surprises. Here's to another year of change, growth and more wonderful surprises!
