Serious trouble...

But good trouble... I stumbled across a boy, well a man actually, and it has kind of caught me off guard. Not only does he like me, but he likes my cat too... He is such a good sport, he endured my first serious cooking endeavor last night (actually, everything turned out great, so that was a huge relief).

So I just found out that an old friend of mine, Travis, and his girlfriend Nicole, are having a baby in August!! So I of course, went crazy on their registry, because Audrey loves other peoples babies... Ha-ha. He is definitely a guy that I am glad that I have kept in touch with. Kind of wierd that nearly 15 years has passed since I saw him last, well 12 years to be exact, I guess... But long enough. Every once in awhile, I break out the tape that our other friend Max made for our little group, listen to it and remember all of the good times we had in France, and some of the not so good times too. (Notably the Malibu rum incident in Paris, god Travis was so sick!) I still can't even stand the smell, let alone drink Malibu to this day... Good times, good times...

Well, I guess I better get little self together and run some errands; Working nights all stupid weekend (followed by a sigh of disgust).

Insomnia strikes again...

So I have this nice, new bed delivered earlier in the day, and now, for some reason, I am unable to sleep... Could it be the date I had earlier that I am still smiling about? Could it be the fact that there will be a second date associated with the aforementioned first date? Is it the fact that I hate working days because the pressure of going to sleep, because I have to get up early is so great? Is it the fact that Jinx keeps taking over my pillow?

I think I will stick to the date theory... That is the best one, and I won't be so miserable in 3 1/2 hours when I have to get up and be productive if I stick to my reasoning...

Well, I guess I had better get back in my nice, new bed and try to get some sleep... 12 hours of sheer delight is headed my way, whether I get any sleep or not...

New furniture: Part two...

Well, the wait is over!! The new furniture has arrived... Wow, I really feel like an adult now. I actually bought NEW furniture, not second-hand from friends, or friends-of-friends... It is beautiful, but I have to be careful not to fall asleep on my couch on work nights, or I might not wake up for work the next morning... Those that know me understand my difficulties with getting myself out of bed in the morning... Ha-ha. (By the way, I got out of bed at 11 this morning; I love days off!) Speaking of beds... Behold the new mattress set...

I was so stoked about my furniture, that I went online to the Army/Air Force Exchange Store and bought a new TV too! I found a screaming deal on a 32" TV. It is backordered right now, but soon enough, soon enough... I guess the next step is the dining room set...

Well, I have been quite successful at cleaning my apartment today, so I need to get back to it! And, Ms. Audrey might have a date tonight, so all the more motivation...

New furniture!!

Well, I finally broke down and bought a mattress/boxspring, couch and a loveseat today... I didn't find any bedroom furniture that I liked at Tate's, so I will stick to my original plan and get the rest of it at Ikea. I am quite excited about it, and it was fairly resonably priced as well... They get delivered on Monday, so I will post pictures of my "new" living room soon.

Jim and I are going to this cool oyster bar we found on Easter Sunday tonight along with some of his friends that I haven't met, so it should be an interesting evening. But, first we need to go to Wal-Mart and get some lawn chairs... Jay has a 12-mile ruck march tomorrow morning for Sapper school training, and Jim and I are going to set up our lawn chairs with some beers near the end of the course to cheer him on. It will be awesome, the rest of his classmates will be SO jealous... I will definitely get some pics!

Well, I am off to eat, shower and venture out to the Wal-Mart...

My handsome Armor Officer buddies...

So Dan, Jim and Jay had their Military Ball last night and Jim borrowed my camera to take some pics... My favorite, although Jay was nowhere to be found, so it is just Dan and Jim with some of their fellow co-workers... I just LOVE the men's dress blue uniform. Had I gone with Jim last night, I am not sure what I would have done with myself, too many sexy men in one place is not always a good thing... Ha-ha.

A slightly productive day...

So I rocked my PT test this morning, even though my grader made me run an extra lap. On the flip side, I ran 2.25 miles in 15.55, so I can't complain too much (though I'd like to...). Overall, a 288 out of 300... Success!

Other than that, it has been a pretty chill day. I have been completely engrossed by the new Bret Easton Ellis book, Lunar Park. Quite different from his other novels, yet equally as good. Apparently, it is supposed to be non-fiction, but if the things he describes in his book really happened to me, I would be totally freaked out! No wonder he has to take so much Xanax and Klonopin... (anti-anxiety meds, for the laymen reading this).

Not too sure what is on the docket for this evening... Jim, Dan and Jay have their Military Ball this evening, so they will be occupied. I think Marty and Peter will be getting drunk at the I Bar tonight, since they start Ranger School in a week, and will be dead to the world for 60-some-odd days. If nothing better comes along, I most likely will head down there and hang out with them.

Anyhow, I am off to continue reading...

I hate ironing...

So I did my laundry and pressed out all of my whites... I am so proud of my big accomplishment today... Ha-ha.

Guess I should probably get in bed since I have two 12-hour days ahead of me, then a PT test at zero-dark-thirty on Friday morning. Awesome... I can't wait, because then I can be a lazy piece of crap for another five months. Well, not so much, because Maggie, Rosie and I are planning to run the Alphretta AND the Atlanta half-marathons later in the year, so that will keep me training.

Well kids, I am going to bed...

66H out...

I need to take a shower and get the hell out of my apartment...

But I am just too lazy at the moment... No too much has been happening in the past two weeks, but I have been trying to re-live my young college years (when I was back in Monterey), and I have been partying like a rock-star. Jim has really become my enabler; Just to give you an idea... We even went out to try to find open bars on Easter Sunday. We were not very successful, we found one open bar, but it closed at midnight, so that sucked. Go figure, bars aren't open on Easter Sunday here in the Bible-Belt... It's a crime, truly a crime.

Speaking of Easter Sunday, I got two most delightful packages from the parents... My Mom sent me a book on the history of Peeps' (for those that don't know, I am a HUGE Peeps' fanatic), and I got several boxes of Peeps' from my Dad and Carolyn... They even sent me Peeps' that I can decorate myself!! Oh I was so excited! My Dad also sent me a set of darts (Dad, I love that you read my blog). So boys, you had better watch out, because it's on like Donkey Kong next time we go to Players!

Anyhow, Jinx is once again such a little brat. I bought her this very nice cat bed because she keeps trying to sleep on my head, which is quite unpleasant and uncomfortable, but she insists on sleeping anywhere BUT her cat bed... As illustrated by the following photos... Above the refrigerator (above), on my $25 orthopedic pillow (where she pushes my head off the pillow, and I wake up with a kink in my neck), and this morning, in a shoebox on my floor. It is a good thing she is so cute, or I would be angry... I guess I really do allow her to act like a princess, but she is just such good company that I can't help it. Tell me, how cute does she look in the shoebox...

In other news, I have been obsessed with myspace lately... I have found a couple of old friends and an old neighbor of mine from Monterey, as well as some of my current friends, so I am having a good time with it. I guess I am trying to make a real effort to get back in touch with people that I once considered good friends. I am a serial "disappearer", where I move away and then never talk to people again, so I am trying to be better at keeping in touch.

Once again, I will move on to the egocentric part of my blog...

I have a fanlisting! (Well, not really, but it is still funny...)

Audrey, a rather effeminate (transvestite?) bohemian poet who is working on the lyrics for "Spectacular, Spectacular" at the beginning of Moulin Rouge! directed by Baz Luhrmann. He is infuriated when asked to collaborate with Christian and storms out, ending his brief, but brilliant appearance in this fantastic movie.

Well, that is about it for now... I have to go do some laundry and mail some bills.
